Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana is the social welfare scheme that launched in few states. At present this scheme is launched in Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, and Bihar. Under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural gas provide gas connections for beneficiary women

Main Aim of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana:

The main aim of this scheme is to provide the free of cost LPG connections to women for BPL families. Under this scheme, the Government will provide LPG connections for 5 million families free of cost. Already the Indian Government set the Rs 8000 crores budget for this scheme.

The government will also provide the EMI facility to meet the cost of supplying stoves and cylinders

Ujjwala Yojana Eligibility:

  • Applicant must be women
  • Candidates must be Indian citizens
  • No one in applicants household should own an LPG connection
  • Applicant should belong to below poverty line (BPL) household
  • The income level of the family per month does not exceed the certain limit as defined by Government union territories/state
  • The name of the applicant in the SECC 2011 data and should match information available in BPL
  • Candidates must not recipient to other similar schemes provided by Government]
